Widescreen signaling, aspect ratios and active format descriptors (WSS, AR, AFD)

itunes remote

the problem: I have a pc which contains all my music and runs iTunes, the digital audio output is connected to speakers in the bedroom and in the lounge. I want to be able to skip/change tracks from a laptop but I don't want the audio to be played from the laptop speakers. In this case airtunes doesn't really help.

solution 1: I googled and found a simple php script that can control iTunes (http://nepthar.blogspot.com/2005/12/how-to-control-itunes-on-pc-from-any.html). This works well but doesn't give the full iTunes functionality, in particular there is no way to pick a song from the library.

solution 2: Asked my geeky brother to write new script with a library function. After a few hours it was working reasonably well. I perfected the layout and design and integrated it with the original player by modifying it to accept play requests via the url. Download the results here : http://pjdaniel.org.uk/webtunes/.
